River is my compulsive obsessive retrieving child.  He is a delight to watch as he rockets out and back to retrieve bumpers and birds.  This is his passion and he's go all day if you let him. This is all new to me so we have a lot to learn and boy what a buzz when it goes to plan.

He is a very flashy boy with his heeling and work in obedience, but he has a lot of growing up to do, and his boy brains are not always far away. His nose makes scent work a breeze.  He has two first places in novice with two 182/200 184/200, finishing off his Novice Title with a lovely 191/200.

We have started his basic agility training and I look forward to the challenge of a dog that has more speed than I do, so distance handling and a very good understanding of what I ask and where he needs to go next is a must.  He will be my pocket rocket.  I have a friend Helen who has taken River under her wing and is teaching him 'wait' on contacts, boy they are having fun.

Showing is the last on our list, but he's happy trotting around the ring having everyone watching.  He now has his Champion title.  He took out Best of Breed twice at the Western Classic March 2009  under 2 Canadian Judges.

He was a very easy puppy to live with, extremely affectionate and outgoing.  I am always on my toes with him and his odd tenage boy challenge and he'll never let me forget he is a retriever at heart.
